DDVM Law Client Messaging
Downing, Davey, Vokins & Mann, LLC uses text messages to keep clients current on their own legal matters. This page explains the program, who receives messages, and how to start or stop them.
What we send
- Appointment, hearing and deadline reminders.
- Status updates on your matter.
- Requests for a document, a signature, or a call back.
- Replies to a question you sent us.
These are messages about your own matter. We do not send advertising, solicitations, newsletters or promotions by text, and we do not text people who have not asked us to.
Who receives messages
Only people who have given express written consent — clients and prospective clients who ask us to reach them by text, either on the sign-up form, on an intake or engagement form, or by telling us in writing. Consent is never a condition of hiring the firm or of receiving any service, and you can decline texts and still work with us exactly as before.
How often
Message frequency varies with what is happening in your matter. Most clients receive a few messages a month; an active case week may bring more.
Starting and stopping
Start on the sign-up form. Stop at any time by replying STOP to any message from us — you will get one confirmation and nothing after that. Reply HELP to any message, or call 785-330-5577, for help. Message and data rates may apply.
Two cautions
Text messages are not secure and are not confidential. Do not send anything by text that you would not want read by someone else. Sensitive details belong in a call, a meeting, or a secure file exchange.
Never rely on a text in an emergency or a deadline. If something is urgent, call the office at 785-330-5577. If it is an emergency, call 911.
The full terms are in the SMS Terms & Conditions, and what we do with your number is in the Privacy Policy.
